E-bike batteries lithium battery packs matched to your e-bike system

The ebike battery is the most valuable — and most regulated — part of an e-bike accessory program. TandemForge quotes down-tube, rear-rack, integrated in-tube and seat-tube lithium-ion battery packs for e-bike brands, service and repair partners and distributors, built to match the controller, connector, mounting rail and housing of your bikes. We do not sell batteries to consumers, and we do not claim any certification on this site: the transport and safety documentation each pack needs is confirmed per SKU and per order with the supplier and an accredited laboratory before production. See all e-mobility accessories.

  • Down-tube, rear-rack, in-tube and seat-tube formats
  • Common system voltages; capacity specified per SKU
  • Battery management system (BMS), lock and charge port per spec
  • UN 38.3 / UL 2271 / UL 2849 / EN 50604-1 path confirmed per order — none claimed

E-bike battery formats

  • Down-tube batteries — mounted on a rail on the down tube, removable with a key; the most common format on aftermarket and value e-bikes.
  • Rear-rack batteries — integrated into a rear carrier; common on city and step-through e-bikes.
  • Integrated (in-tube) batteries — slide into the frame’s down tube; housing and mount are specific to the frame design.
  • Seat-tube / bottle batteries — compact packs behind the seat tube or in a bottle-shaped housing.
  • Range extenders — secondary packs where the drive system supports them.

What a battery spec has to match

A battery is never “universal”. Each pack is built to your bike’s system voltage (36 V and 48 V are common requests), the capacity you target (specified per SKU), the discharge current the controller draws, the connector and communication the controller expects, and the mounting rail, lock and housing of the frame. Cells (typically 18650 or 21700 lithium-ion), cell grade and supplier, BMS protections and charger are specified and documented per SKU. Packs that must work with a proprietary branded drive system are only quoted where that system’s owner allows it; we do not copy branded battery designs.

Battery compliance and transport — the process, not a claim

No e-bike battery on this site is presented as certified. Every pack follows a documented process agreed per SKU and per order:

  1. Transport testing. Lithium-ion batteries must pass UN 38.3 tests and carry a test summary before they can be shipped; sea and air shipments are packed, labeled and declared as Class 9 dangerous goods. Large packs face extra restrictions by air.
  2. Market safety standards. Buyers confirm which standards their market or channel requires — for example UL 2271 (batteries for light electric vehicles) and UL 2849 (e-bike electrical systems) in the US, where some cities such as New York City require them for e-bikes and batteries sold there; EN 50604-1 and the EU battery rules in Europe. Retailers and marketplaces may ask for more.
  3. Laboratory and scope. The exact pack (cells, BMS, housing) is tested by an accredited laboratory agreed by buyer and supplier; any change to cells or BMS can require re-testing.
  4. Documents and labels. Test summaries, SDS, labels, warnings and manuals for your market are prepared and approved by your team before shipment.

Labeling, claims and the decision to sell a pack in a given market are the brand owner’s responsibility. See the general export compliance process.

Who we quote e-bike batteries for

E-bike brands (original fitment and spare packs), authorized service and repair partners, and distributors serving bike shops. Consumer sales are not offered. Packs can ship with your chargers, keys and branded housings through OEM.

No certifications, ratings or test data claimed. We describe what each product is made of, how it works and how it can be customized. We do not display certification marks or security ratings, publish test data, factory capacity or customer cases on this site. Test reports and certification documentation can be provided or arranged per order for the buyer’s market, as the brand owner requires. Bike helmets and lithium e-bike batteries are regulated products: the applicable standard (for example CPSC 16 CFR 1203 / EN 1078 for helmets; UN 38.3 transport testing and UL 2271 / UL 2849 / EN 50604-1 for batteries) is confirmed per SKU and per order with the supplier and an accredited lab before production. Labeling and claims are the brand owner’s responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make a replacement battery for any e-bike?

No. Each pack is built to a specific controller, connector, mount and housing. We quote packs for e-bike brands and their service partners, and we do not copy proprietary branded battery designs.

What voltage and capacity do you offer?

36 V and 48 V systems are common requests; capacity is specified per SKU to your range target and confirmed with documentation per order.

How are e-bike batteries shipped?

As Class 9 dangerous goods with UN 38.3 test summary, SDS and correct packing and labels. Sea freight is typical; air freight is restricted for larger packs.

Do you sell e-bike batteries to consumers?

No. Battery packs are supplied to e-bike brands, service partners and distributors only.

Are your e-bike batteries UN38.3 or UL certified?

We do not claim any certification for e-bike batteries on this site. Lithium-ion batteries need UN 38.3 transport test documentation and dangerous-goods (Class 9) packing and labeling before they can ship by sea or air, and many markets or channels require more — for example UL 2271 (LEV batteries) or UL 2849 (e-bike electrical systems) in the US, and EN 50604-1 in Europe. Which documents apply is confirmed per SKU and per order with the supplier and an accredited laboratory, before production. See the compliance process in our specs guide.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on the platform (an existing design vs. a new mold), color, logo method, packaging and the documentation your market needs; lead time depends on customization, documentation and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also the packaging & MOQ section of our specs guide.
